DESTINY --- BELIEVE IT OR NOT!!!! ( continued....)

whatever i m going 2 tell is an incident which took place a long ago but few days back it just flashed back as a fresh one.once i went to a hospital 2 see one of my relatives.most of ppl least like 2 visit two places a hospital and police station . the atmosphere was completely boring with sign boards of emergency opd ward nos operation theatres nd many other like that (that antiseptic nd phenyl smell blended with that of medicines...typical characterisitic hospital smell i can say).

as i entered the ward it was full of beds with patients lying on them and more number of attendants as visiting hours were there.on one corner of the bed was my relative whom i had come to visit.i asked my relative about her health , her treatment nd when will she b discharged.she was in a better state of health.she asked me a number of obvious questions about my parents studies etc nd informed that she will b discharged within a few days after some diagnostic tests.
on the opposite bed there was another lady in a very unhealthy condition.i was looking at her and observing her facial expression in such a state of health when i was interrupted by my relative who told me that the lady on the opposite bed was suffering from some type of blood related cancer and had to come regularly to hospital after a stipulated time for platelets and blood transfusion.
i spent some more time with my relative tellin her about my studies.suddenly i was called up by the lady about whom we were talkin about.the call included no words but only some gestures of her hand with her arms attached with the drip needles dipped on the other side in some kind of solution in a bottle hanging 4m a height on a long stand.her attendant was out to buy some kind of medicines or whatever(doctors usually don't allow attendants spend time with the patients ,askin them bring one or the other stuffs involved during the treatment moment after one has just returned 4m bringing the previous item).
i stood up 4m the chair and moved towards the lady.she tried to speak up in an almost inaudible voice.it was almost impossible to understand what she was sayin.then she tried to convey through her gestures that she wanted water by indicating towards the water bottle kept on the table.i got her signal and filled a glass of water 4m the bottle.
i made her sit comfortable by adjusting the back of the bed nd keeping a pillow on her backside.i gave the glass of water to her which she drank very slowly.
she uttered something which i could not understand nd gave me a little smile (though it seemed very difficult 4 her to even smile in such a condition) as if she was thanking me 4 my help. i adjusted the bed again in order to make her rest in her previous position.at that moment i found myself filled with an unprecedented feeling of satisfaction but could not understand the reason.

the next evening when i visited my relative ,i observed that the opposite bed was vacant.i thought the lady of that bed might have been taken 4 some kind of tests.so i got myself diverted 4m the thought of the lady and asked my relative about her present state of health who replied that she was getting discharged the next day itself.an hour past but the lady of opposite bed did not return.hence i inquired about her 4m my relative.she became silent as soon as i finished up with my question.she remained quite but then after some moments she told me that the concerned lady was no more.she had died in the afternoon the same day while having a platelet transfusion.the doctors had already tried 2 keep her alive 4 so much time by regular transfusions but this time it was her last time.

i was shocked with the news nd tried 2keep myself calm nd composed.who would ve thought the previous day that she would not live even up2 the next 24 hours.suddenly u get to know that the person 2 whom u gave some of the moments of ur life by a little help just the previous day is no more in this world.
on my part,i had some strange moments thinking over what happened and felt relieved that atleast i contributed something to a person's life in her last moments (although it was not such thing to be considered as help).
once again the event made me wonder about the irony of life and the power of fate.every thing is destined 2 occur at its fixed time.
otherwise hw can 2 ppl spend some time of their lives who live miles apart and dont even know each other??
