Three Oysters of Wisdom

i made the following conclusions after completing the trio of these marvellous books:

1) its a great charm to read these three if u r a staunch believer of destiny. And if u r not, u'll definitely become after reading them.

2)they allow u to contemplate abt urself and at different moments in life, they will surely act as a guide and an eye opener. thus read them again if u feel depressed or ur confidence level is low.

3)they show u a new outlook towards life and grant u all the wisdom.

4)these books will really bless ur life if u allow the thoughts written in them to play a role in urs.

5)don't read a lot of these inspirational books. else u'll miss a lot of other beautiful things in life.only extract the best out of them

All about GAJJJJABB

GAJJJJABBB.. this is not only a word. this is something else here in NIT-D.enter the campus, just say "aree gajjab" or "gajjab" whatever the way u like and ur presence will certainly b acknowledged by the ppl.however getting a full attention will depend on the situation or the place at which u r at that moment.the probablity is very high that u'll b greeted by another person saying "gajjab".

Gajjjjabb is derived from GAZZAB ,e.g. gazzab dhaana.but due 2 different tones , accents and usage it has finally been transformed to gajjab.it means something very special, awesome or gr8.it is an exclamation to different emotions.the way u say gajjab says abt ur mood.

Gajjjjabb in NIT-D has become a part of many people's life and has recently become one of the most popular lingos surpassing the other words which were used in common language.
The history of Gajjjjabb says that this word was invented when some students of hall4 of 2008 batch started using it everywhere after they were fascinated by bhojpuri.they seldom used their mother tongue in their conversations.moreover, they added the flavour of using the word Gajjjjabb 2 most of the sentences. one could listen to this emaohatic word at jhoops, technoe ,canteen wherever u go.soon the word propagated to junior batches and its usage to.the pioneers in this task were SMD trio of 2009 batch and this legacy is still being carried on to newer batches.

The word Gajjjjabb became more and more popular after a video of laloo prasad named LALOO'S ANGREZI showing one of his greatest speeches in Parliament while presenting the rail budget 2008.
The height of Gajjjjabb was when a puppy was named Gajjjjabb.its pic was taken and an orkut a/c was online .The puppy (of course the ppl who created its profile) used to scrap ppl and send them friend requests.

At present Gajjjjabb is everything 4 some ppl. Gajjjjabb , ek takiyakalam hai . Gajjjjabb is a greeting when u meet ppl.Gajjjjabb is a way of expressing themselve, their happiness , their troubles.Gajjjjabb is life here 4 them. The SMD trio along with many others has also constituted a cricket team named GAJJJJABB and is no doubt the most popular team of the college.

One thing is sure that who so ever was ,is ,or will b associated with this magical word Gajjjjabb can never forget the events , feelings and emotions related to it.

Thanx 2 all who feel they r related 2 GAJJJJABB...!!!!

The Art of Being Witty

Some ppl r frequently credited with a pleasing though perplexing sense of humor. Not the ha-ha variety but more literary. They turn their phrases with such cleverness that their aphorisms are remembered long after they are themselves forgotten.

some witty quotes:-

1. he has all the virtues i dislike and none of the vices i admire.
2. a modest little person with much to be modest about.
3. he has no enemies but is intensely disliked by his friends
4. some cause happiness wherever they go, others whenever they go.
5. for u and ur friend if u have one.
6. i didn't attend the funeral but i sent a nice letter that i approved of it
7. why do u sit there looking like an envelope without an address on it?
8. he loves nature inspite of what it did to him.
9.he is simply a shiver looking for a spine to run up.
10. he has the attention span of a lightening bolt.
11. is that a gun in your pocket or u r just happy to see me??
12. he's a very balanced man with a chip on both shoulders.
13. there is only one thing that is worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about.
14. i have nothing to declare except my genius.
15. i hope u have not been leading a double life-pretending to be wicked but being really good all the time.that would be hypocrisy.

I was really amused when i saw the above article in a newspaper few years back. I some how managed to keep a cutting of the article at that time.

A RENDEZVOUS with a BRIDE

The car with the bride sitting inside entered the resort and stopped nearby me.i was called up by a sweet voice from the car.it was the bride,my cousin.she had recognised me though we hadnt met each other for many yrs.we r not close relatives as we meet only during occasions and wedding ceremonies of our mutual relatives.but this time i was meeting her on her own wedding.
she had just finished up with her bridal makeup at some parlour and arrived at the resort where the wedding was to take place.the "baraat" ,as we call it was about to reach at the venue.
she called me again and this time i recognised who was calling me.i went near her and we exchanged greetings.she told me that she needed me to b with her as she was feeling nervous and her friends had not yet arrived.i agreed, obviously, and helped her reach the room where she was supposed to wait till the baraat arrives.
she was shivering perhaps due 2 nervousness though she was wearing a very heavy bridal dress.i made her sit and offered a glass of water to make her feel comfortable.god knows what was going through her mind on her wedding day.she now felt easy and relaxed.suddenly she clutched me and i was startled.her mobile was ringing.she picked up the fone and it was her elder sis.she talked to her and nw she seemed more relaxed.i assured that she was fine.i cackled a joke and she giggled.uuuhhh!!! now she was ok.soon we started chatting normally as we do whenever we meet and she started shooting a long list of personal and formal questions at me.
the room was a sort of greenroom with a large mirror.she looked into the mirror and asked me a question."how am i looking?".i hate to answer this question whenever a female asks me because u cannot say the correct answer.u have to spoof them always.but this time i said the fact.she was looking great.a beautiful and innocent looking bride."nobody else today will b so pretty ".she was very happy and pleased to know that.just then a thought retrieved into my mind.i smiled a bit and she noticed it and out of curiosity she asked the reason. i told her abt a wedding scene in "Pyar ke side effects" abt why does a woman marry? she laughed her heart out when i described the scene.
soon she started telling hw excited she was for her wedding.she had got the best wedding dress and jewellery of the town and above it she had manipulated more on her dress in order to look more charming.she started walking as if it was a ramp infront of the large mirror.i wondered she would have been in delhi for lakme india fashion week if it was not her wedding.she asked me the same question i had mentioned earlier and this time i convinced her that she was indeed looking beautiful.
the saying goes its way again."wherever the women r concerned the unexpected always happens".
a few moments ago she was so nervous that she was about to faint because it was her own wedding and now she is highly excited because its her own wedding.
her sis came inside the room and she was welcomed by the bride with the question that i had already answered twice.meanwhile there was a noise of crackers and band that signalled the arrival of the baraat.the unexpected happened again.soon both the sisters hugged and started weeping.

i tried to ease their moods again and was successful in doing that.soon we escorted the bride to the stage where her groom was waiting and then started the long procedure of photo sessions and rites and rituals.

from a girl's point of view, it is the irony of life.she has to live her life in two phases, in two different places, two different families, two different environments.

but u can experience a sudden change of emotions that too contrasting ones only in case of women

Just Another morning @ NITDGP

my alarm clock beeped and i looked out for the time shown by it.it said 5.30 in the morning. i didn't know who had set that alarm time in my clock.
no need to feel sorry 4 me. i was already awake.i had not slept yet.another nightout herein. i had returned late after having a very amusing birthday treat of one of my friends and thereafter got involved in a sort of discussion with my other frnds who have accompanied me to my room.my frnds left for their respective rooms after the so called discussion was over.i was thinking of writing a post on my blog and so i started with it.i didn't notice how the time got spent untill i was startled by the alarm.normally one finds it really difficult 2 remain awake after 3am.
it was morning already when i looked out of my room's window.i was not feeling sleepy.but i was feeling hungry.as such i decided to visit our own Ravida ka jhoops, the multi cuisine restaurant of NIT Durgapur.but it was not opened yet.it was a bit early.
i had nothing to do but to wait 4 some more time.just then an idea struck my mind.i decided to have a morning walk.thus, i moved out of my room and was welcomed by a wonderful breeze.i had never xperienced it like that. i moved on, out of my hostel and started walking with nobody accompanying me.it was just another morning in NIT-D but something was different.i had never heed on the beauty of morning in the campus.i did have a number of nightouts b4 but never did i decide to have a stroll.i had a round of the campus njoying the cool breeze and witnessing the dawn and reached jhoops.i had already observed the smoke coming out of burning of cowdung cakes and coal which Ravida uses in the chulhas.
i reached the jhoops and was received by a greeting,"Morning ".it was Ravida ,already preparing tea. some of the guards were also there.they come there daily 4 their bed tea or first tea i must say.preparations for the day were going on in the adjoining jhoops too.
i gave a smile in reply and asked for a cup of tea.i ordered something to eat.i found prashanto coming from the side gandhi morh on his bicycle that was looking no less than a load carrier.every part of bicycle use for carrying something or the other.the tea had been prepared in the meantime.i noticed Ravida offering some of the tea to God of fire before giving it to anybody else.prashanto took out some of the aggarbattis ,lit them up and started worshiping.then he moved out of the jhoops and started worshiping in a particular direction.he was offering prayer to the Sun God.
just then i came to know where was east direction with respect to our campus. i wonder how many of NITDians know 4m which direction of the college, the sun rises.
u'll definitely meet some stray dogs and loads of mosquitoes if u go that early to jhoops.so don't forget to cover ur body or u'll get eaten and bitten by mosquitoes.
i was having my cup of tea when i saw one of my classmates coming.i was used 2 nigthouts as he prefered the silence of the night for his coding and research work.he was another one who didnt know where the east direction was.i saw some going 4 a jog .some were running with bags on their shoulders to catch a bus and some more returning back 2 college.everyday ppl leave and return to college irrespective of a working day or a holiday.
the weather was brilliant and charming,so it added to the pleasure of having a nightout.every sip of tea giving u some energy.i njoyed it a lot. i finished with my eating stuff and started feeling sleepy now.

mind u ,don't get used to nightouts.they can be harmful to ur health.so just have them for fun and occasionally only.
those who haven't tried it out, have a nightout once and observe the beauty of an NITD morning.

CHATTING VS CONVERSATION

LAN wire gets welded 2 ur computer and there u r,connected with the whole world.within 14.1 inches of screen u can see whole universe and with few mouse clicks and hits on keyboard, u can command it.thats the power of internet.

b4 the operating system gets completely logged on, one needs to signing into orkut, ymsngr, gtalk, etc, etc nwdays.forget all other tasks 4 which most ppl lyk us buy a computer, studies of course. i beg ur pardon 4 mentioning studies but its the main excuse of buying a computer.the actual reason being net and entertainment.

social networking thats what ppl call it.it is very nice that u get in touch with ur distant friends or have not met u 4 long, what abt roommates xchanging scraps just to increase their number.the new competition, the number game of scraps , friends and fans with no end and no prize to compete 4.

i wonder whether these kind of stuffs serve the real purpose of friendship and relations.i feel that social networking only serves networking.the feeling of being social is gradually leaking out.

i remember ,few days back, there was no internet connection available for few days .the complete scenario of the hostel changed.all had gossip sessions sharing themselves with each other which they rather do on gtalk or yahoo messenger.some got tym for playing cricket and TT.some started reading novels, some started preparing and some even thought of leaving 4 home.they had become frustrated and spent each second waiting 4 internet as if they would have been waiting 4 their soulmate whom they hadn't met 4 yrs.after regular intervals they opened the google homepage and got shattered when they saw "page cannot be displayed".

the warmth and xcitement of any relation whether u r friends, colleagues, classmates, collegemates, is receding its way out which was supposed to be there b4 the extensive use of chatting started.emotions being replaced by smileys of different kinds.pings and buzzes in place of hellos and hiyas.i find ppl not knowing each other when they meet in reality although they r there in each others friend list.they will give cold stares at each other (as if they r strangers 2 each other )when they pass by though their chat windows r full with ":)" nd "hehe" "haha" types of words, not 2 forget ..LOL.
lots of laughs or laugh out loud ,whatever it is. i wonder how much of haemoglobin they would have increased if they had really laughed out loud so much.
the time which ppl used to hang out with friends is now spent in xchanging scraps.ppl prefer typing 2000 lines pressing innuberably on a silly keyboard to convey a thing which they would have said in 2 minutes if they had opted for a simple conversation.

i don't know what 2 write more abt this thing. i m becoming perplexed.got this thing suddenly in my brain's contemplative part, so just retched it out in this post.

what i feel abt a conversation is that:
The real art of conversation is not only to say the right thing at the right place but to leave unsaid the wrong thing at the tempting moment.
one can never have a real feeling of conversation by sending instant msgs.
No body is exempt from saying silly things; the mischief is to say them deliberately.

PREFER CONVERSATIONS OVER CHAT

INTROSPECTION

i m writing on 3rg aug 2008, so first of all HAPPY FRIENDSHIP DAY .

i was not having a proper net access 4m last 2 days, so all my planning of sending wishes of friendship day (b4 any1 else could do it 2 me) went in vain to some extent.
0000hrs and my mobile beeped 4 an sms giving me a reminder of the day.

i found a note on friendship while i was surfing the net in the morning which impressed me a lot and made me think abt it ..

Anger is only one letter short of danger
If someone betrays you once, it is his fault;
If he betrays you twice, it is your fault.

Great minds discuss ideas;
Average minds discuss events;
Small minds discuss people.

He, who loses money, loses much;
He, who loses a friend, loses much more;
He, who loses faith, loses all.

Beautiful young people are accidents of nature,
But beautiful old people are works of art.

Learn from the mistakes of others
You can't live long enough to make them all
yourself.

Friends, you and me...
You brought another friend...
And then there were 3...
We started our group...
Our circle of friends...
And like that circle...
There is no beginning or end...

Yesterday is history.
Tomorrow is mystery.
Today is a gift.
That is why it is called the present.

so much philosophy within a few lines..hats off!!!

"THE 3 MISTAKES OF MY LIFE"-my review

Somebody asked me if i had read the new one 4m chetan bhagat, 'the 3 mistakes of my life'.i replied in negative as it hadn't even heard of it before.i had already read the first two 4m the author namely five point someone (first ever novel i read) and one night @ call centre.i was in no mood of starting a new novel as i was already reading one from dan brown which i think i'll not finish soon considering its thickness.

i was roaming in the hostel when i met my classmate holding the book 'the 3 mistakes of my life'.i turned the book to its back cover so as to know whats in there."the prologue doesn't sound interesting", i said.my classmate nodded to my statement.i flipped some pages of the book and found "ishaan" written there.my name has recenlty become popular with aamir khan using the name ishaan nandkishor awasty in "tare zameen par" and now an author of two bestsellers in india using it again in his new one.i still remember my childhood when ppl made awkward faces as i told them my name.they used to ask the meaning of my name.even now some ppl can't pronounce it correctly (e.g.my college classmates) and continue to ask me the same question.therefore the mention of my name in the book egged me to read it.i finished the book in no time as it was not a long story .the other reason of finishing it early being the start of a new semester in my final year with no important work to do yet.

i am not a regular blogger.i had not posted much on my blog for 5 months though i read many of other ppl's blogs.i wondered if i was so busy last semester.yes,i was sort of, with some unavoidable reasons(need not to mention).

i came up with a few lines 4m the book i couldnt resist sharing..

1)Nonsensical,monosyllabic responses:

This a usual thing ppl have xperienced when talking to persons they need to start a conversation with especially in case of opposite gender.

2)A guy's plight :

Why are there so few pretty girls? why hadn't evolution figured it out that men liked pretty women and turned them all out that way?

3)The term 'just good friends' or 'very good friends':

A very good friend is a dangerous category with indian girls.from here u can either make fast progress.or if u play it wrong u go down to the lowest category invented by an indian women ever-"Rakhi brother".
Rakhi brother really means 'u can talk to me, but don't even freaking think about any thing else'

4)A lesson:

Life will have many setbacks.people close to u will hurt u.but you don't break it off.you don't hurt them more.u try to heal it .it is a lesson we and our country needs to learn needs.

Another thing i want to say which came to my mind just when i started writing this post is :
construction and destruction go hand in hand.one doesn't lose anything.it comes back to the person in one or the other forms.so have faith in yourself and try not to ever regret whats goes on in your life.

so here it is a new one ,in my philosophy towards life.... :)

HAPPY READING!!!

interviewer:i think our company is not a suitable place 4 u.
me:sir i know ur company works on huge databases of genes and other bioinformatics projects.so if i get into ur company , i can contribute a lot in that field. i ve already done a project on bioinformatics using perl for prediction of protein structures that included the application of data structures.

interviewer:if i ask u some ques on C will u b able 2 answer it?
me:that depends on the nature of the ques . i don't practice c programs.well u can ask if u want 2

interviewer:do u ve any ques?
me:waited 4 a moment.then .... sir i give u two choices: ceo of a company nd an ias officer, whom do u think gets more respect and whom will u prefer.

interviewer:i don't like govt sector . it has many limitations and constraints.i'll stay with private sector......pata nahi kya kya bola...but in the end i would say , i'll definitely prefer an ias .
any more ques ?
me:no sir abhi yahi ques aaya tha dimaag mein , so i askd .if there will b more i'll ask u later

interviewer:ok then we'll let u know..thank you
me:welcome

DISGUISED SMILES ... :) ....????????????.

the following post is purely a matter of my philosophy and thoughts.its resemblance to anybody's life is thus coincidental.

chhotti classes ki hindi ki book mein ek chapter padha tha jiska naam tha hansi ke mukhaute. chapter ki kahani thi to bahut simple but was good enough to leave an impression on me.story to mujhe achhi tarah se yaad nahi but still i'll try to recall.

ek aadmi bahut dukhi hota hai but uske chehre pe kabhi ye xpression nahi aata ki woh andar se dukhi hai. uske ghar par jitne bhi log aate hain unse woh achhi tarah se muskurakar baat karta hai and njoys with them also.it gets revealed at the end of the story that his son had died and still he didn't disclose his feelings just bcoz he didn't want to spoil his guests's mood.but andar hi andar woh dukh ki aag mein jalta rehta hai just 4 his friends who were very happy at that time.
i repeat i don't remember the story but only the title.pata nahi achanak kahan se strike kiya ye hansi ke mukhaute and i started to type down as my thought process began.

sometimes i find this applicable to our life also when we just disguise ourselves in different characters without having an inner feeling of doin such a thing.pretending to b very nice towards someone when u actually critise at one's back, stuffs like buttering nd pampering.i find them awkard really.but ppl say they r essential if u wanna grow up bigger and faster in this materialistic world.
however, sometimes it becomes really difficult to withstand with ur inner feelings.u may have something in ur heart that makes it feel heavy but ur conscience says that u should give a smile to make somebody's day.
for xample,u've been thrashed by something nd still u smile hiding ur tears bcoz u know nobody is there to wipe them off and everybody to mock @ u calling u a coward.u r xhausted ur body breaking into pieces nd ur friends call u 4 a hangout.u can't resist bcoz u can't b a spoilsport and u move on with them. u spend hrs with them still u don't get any credits.
but don't care abt the world and the credits it will give u if ever they will realise ur value. if u can make someone feel happy nd u succeed in cherishing one's life u'll never regret.the thought that happiness on others face is due to ur smile will content ur soul itself.
so even if u r hurt don't show it as it will make many ppl who r concerned abt u feel sad (provided the thing is not too significant that it should not b disclosed to ur close ones).

one sms said:
smile in ease
smile in pain
smile when trouble
pore like rain
smile whn someone hurt ur feeling
smiles you know are very hailng

at last i'll say that "a smile is a curve that sets everything straight".
so KEEP SMILING!!!!!!!!
